Annual Report 2025: A Year of Delivery, Collaboration, and Platform Transformation
The Cool Farm Alliance Annual Report 2025 is now available, marking a pivotal year for the Alliance and its members.
2025 represented a shift from ambition to execution, culminating in the successful launch of Cool Farm Platform (CFP) 3.0. This milestone reflects years of collaboration across the science, product, and member community, with member insight and engagement playing a central role throughout.
A Platform Built by the Community, for the Community
CFP 3.0 represents a significant step change in capability:
- Rebuilt crop and cattle models aligned with the latest science
- Introduction of a Tier 2 Soil Organic Carbon model
- FLAG-aligned reporting and improved compliance readiness
- API-first architecture enabling integration into member systems
This progress highlights a defining feature of the Alliance: shared ownership. Member feedback, testing, and participation have directly shaped the platform now in place.
Strengthening Scientific Integrity at Scale
In 2025, scientific rigour was further embedded across platform development:
- More than 2,100 automated tests supporting model integrity
- A clearer end-to-end science-to-code methodology
- Enhanced transparency and technical documentation in preparation for assurance
These foundations ensure that credibility is maintained as the platform continues to scale.
A Growing and Engaged Community
The Alliance community remains central to its impact:
- 180 member organisations across multiple sectors
- 30 new members joined in 2025
- Expanded Working Groups driving both technical and strategic priorities
- Continued success of collaborative initiatives such as Regen Reflections
- Member participation across governance, testing, and engagement continues to shape direction and outcomes.
Supporting the Transition to CFP
2025 also marked a significant transition from the Cool Farm Tool to Cool Farm Platform 3.0. This transition was supported through:
- Over 2,700 support tickets resolved
- Expanded training resources and live support sessions
- Direct member involvement in testing and user experience improvements
This collaborative approach has ensured that CFP is both scientifically robust and practical for real-world application.
Looking Ahead
Priorities for 2026 include:
- Consolidating adoption of CFP 3.0
- Strengthening greenhouse gas functionality and standards alignment
- Expanding monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) capabilities and nature metrics
- Continuing investment in community-led development
The progress outlined in the 2025 Annual Report demonstrates the value of a collaborative, science-led approach. The Cool Farm Alliance continues to evolve through the strength and engagement of its membership.
