In our pursuit of creating an inclusive workplace, Cool Farm acknowledges that we are on an ongoing journey. In 2023, we took a significant step by seeking consultation support to develop a comprehensive strategy for integrating EDI responses into our business operations.
To achieve these goals, we worked with Honey Badger, a leading provider of culture design solutions.
We’ve enhanced our recruitment process to ensure fairness and accessibility at every step. This includes sharing interview questions in advance, evaluating candidates based on specific qualities, and anonymising personal information on applications to ensure a diverse talent pool.
We’ve organised workshops to create open discussions about EDI, while also engaging directly with farmers through field visits. These initiatives help us incorporate real-world insights into our tools, ensuring they meet the needs of diverse agricultural communities.
At the Cool Farm Annual Event, we introduced a Climate Justice panel, bringing underrepresented voices to the forefront. This effort ensures that decision-making processes are inclusive and reflective of the needs of all stakeholders.
We established an EDI Committee to continuously oversee and guide our diversity and inclusion initiatives, ensuring that Cool Farm remains a supportive, inclusive, and equitable workplace for all.
