Honouring Dr. Dali Rani Nayak: A Pillar of Expertise in Sustainable Agriculture

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of a member of our Science Advisory Council, Dr. Dali Rani Nayak. Dr. Nayak played an instrumental role in the development of our rice methane model for the Cool Farm Tool version 1.0. Her expertise and contributions in the fields of rice agriculture and supporting our Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) modelling have been invaluable to our work.

In addition to her contributions to our council, Dr. Nayak was a mentor and supervisor to Marte Nikolaisen during her Ph.D. research. This collaboration has led to significant advancements in rice methane and nitrous oxide models, setting the groundwork for future enhancements in our Cool Farm Rice methodology.

Dr. Nayak’s dedication to sustainable agriculture and her support for our mission will be profoundly missed. Her legacy will continue to inspire us and impact the work we do, ensuring that her contributions to agricultural sustainability will not be forgotten. Our thoughts are with her family, colleagues, and all who were touched by her kindness, life and work.
